What They Are Saying

Since the BBQ’s have started, my neighbours have gotten to know each other, and there doesn’t seem to be the conflict that there used to be. I see neighbours helping out each other more, and talking a lot more to each other. We are now a community rather than a bunch of strangers living on the same street, even the drug dealers have moved on.

Camp Dakota is a life saver to me and my four kids. It’s fantastic that they can go for the summer, and I don’t have to worry about them. I work at two jobs to make ends meet, and can’t afford anything more than the basics.

The area has changed from the highest crime to the lowest in the past 3 years. It is safer now, the seniors aren’t afraid to go out and business has moved back in. It is a thriving neighbourhood and truly a neighbourhood with a sense of community.
— Police Services
The complaints about other tenants have drastically reduced since the Outreach BBQs have been taking place.
